Imagine trying to swim in a woolen bathing suit. But that's what they did back in the Victorian era. We once had some of those original wool bathing suits and just holding them made us feel itchy. No doubt, they made you swim fast.
This pair of 1950s scatter pins are of a man and woman, dressed in beach wear of the Victorian era. Her pink swimsuit has pantaloons. His swimsuit has some knickers too. He also sports a very impressive handlebar mustache.
The pins measure about 1/2 inch across by 1 1/2 inches high. They're enamel painted on light gold-tone metal. They have secure rollover clasps. A few minor dings to the paint but overall, this couple of bathers are dressed for a fast swim.
