We comb through a lot of jewelry daily to find something special to bring you. Sometimes, our eyes glaze over from looking at the same boring stuff. But then...there's a piece that sends a little bolt of excitement to our senses. And we hear that inner 'wow'.
This is that piece. The eye sees it. The hand grabs it. A little bolt sends the 'wow' to the gut. It's a handwrought brass necklace that's unique. In fact, it's one-of-a-kind.
Designed by jewelry artist Nancy Aires, this 1980s piece has a Brutalist - Modernist free-form bold persona. The thick brass center looks tree-born with raised bead clusters and pod-like shapes. Two long curved rods are brass over copper and hook up at the neck.
This necklace measures 17 inches around with a center drop of 1 3/4 inches. The back is signed N. ARIES. There's a small black spot at center that's naturally evolved. It can probably be polished out by a jeweler but we leave it to buyer to decide. We see it as a 'beauty mark'. Light wear to surface. Overall in fine vintage condition. It's a 'wow' now and always.
