This original WW II SWEETHEART pin was the kind of jewelry that soldiers would send home to their wives or sweethearts during the 1940s war years.

This 1940s heart pin is still in its original red velvet box. It's made of gold-fill on sterling silver. The heart opens to reveal a locket that has 2 openings for photos. There's a backpiece, loop and locket front made of genuine mother-of-pearl. The locket has a military symbol on it. It's an eagle with a shield representing the U.S. Army. The word SWEETHEART is spelled out in silver wire.

Pin measures 1 1/2 by 2 inches. The foil tag on the box says ENCO 1/20 12K GOLD-FILLED ON STERLING. Locket is also marked on the inside. This is a very pretty piece of jewelry...over 70 years old with some meaningful history.

Old and original WW II store stock...in unused excellent condition.
