The Metropolitan Museum of Art doesn't do 'mediocre' so when they make a shoe pin, it's going to be a FANTASTIC shoe pin. Like this one. It's a Victorian slipper style shoe with a heavy layer of gold-plate and four tiny crystal 'buttons'. It's the kind of shoe we'd all love to wear if it came in our size.
The pin measures 2 inches across by about 1 inches high. It's 1/2 inch wide across the sole.
When you're not wearing this perfect little shoe, you can stand it up on a shelf as it stands on its own. It's a fine little miniature with great detail...down to the little side buckle. Pin weighs 13.2 grams. It's marked MMA on the bottom. This was made circa 1970s. Excellent condition. These MMA pins are of the highest quality and made in small number...just two reasons why collectors scoop them up when they find them.
