This stylized Art Deco face mask pin is by Elzac of California. They made distinctive ceramic and copper tribal pins that are now listed in many jewelry collectible books.
This face pin is green ceramic wearing a textured copper headdress that wraps over the copper ears. She wears copper spring earrings.
The pin measures 1 5/8 by 2 1/8 inches. Elzac pieces were made from about 1942 to 1944 and were never signed. Pieces were marked with paper tags which most women removed before wearing. Through a strong magnifier, we can see a fine hairline crackle at left side over the eye and a fleabite at crevice of the lip. We didn't see it without the magnification. No crazing. Back has a secure rollover clasp. Very good vintage condition. A unique classic pin from the 1940s.
