These long vintage clip earrings are truly a work of sterling silver wire filigree art. They were made by H.S. Silver in the heart of silver...Kotagede in Yogyakarta Indonesia. This village of silversmiths produced jewelry for the royal families and have long been producing exquisite filigree and silver jewelry (now sold mostly in silver shops in Bali).
These earrings are spun out of 925 silver. They're shoulder dusters at 4 1/2 inches long. They measure 1 3/8 inches wide. Each earring is a double row of flowers and leaves coming together at the bottom with a single bouquet. The intricate work of each link is beyond description...'awesome' sums it up. These flowers are a Javanese motif.
Each earring is marked H.S. 925 in two places (post and bottom of dangle). These weigh 25 grams...not too heavy considering their size. We've left the nice silver patina as found. The clips hold securely (I tried them on and danced around...they danced with me).
Excellent vintage condition. Circa 1970s.
