What a masterpiece this ring is. We know it was made by an African silver artist, purchased on a trip to Africa in the mid-1970s. The workmanship is very impressive, as is the size of the ring.
Bands of sterling silver create a high stack, cut through at one section and inlaid with the lapis lazuli that seems to spill over from the large lapis stone on top.
The ring is size 9.5. It weighs 23 grams. The top of the ring measures 5/8 by 7/8 inches at the lapis...with the silver it's 1 by 1 1/8 inches. It stacks up about 3/8 inch high. Ring has been acid-tested for sterling.
The ring shows slight age appropriate wear but is overall in excellent vintage condition. Unsigned but it won't go unnoticed.
