This huge metal expansion bracelet has about as many charms dangling from it as there are grains of sand on the beach. Or so it seems as we attempted to count them. Not enough time in the day.
Suffice to say, there are LOTS of dangling charms. Many are beach themed...clam and oyster shells, starfish, conch shells. Then there are other kinds of beads too...melon shaped, the sun, rose buds, saucers and spacers. And they're all made of gold-tone or silver-tone metal.
The expansion band the charms are fastened to is made of gold-tone metal on top and silver-tone on the inside. This will stretch to fit an average wrist...6 to 7 inches. Depending on where we measure the width, it can vary from 2.5 to 3.5 inches...just depends on how many charms are clustered there. Wearing this bracelet is a unique experience...probably akin to Carmen Miranda donning her fruit-laden hat.
This bracelet is old store stock that came from a Miami Beach Hotel gift shop. The owner had been there for many years and when she closed in the 1980s, the contents were put in storage. A friend of ours bought some of the unsold jewelry...and this goliath of a bracelet.
If you can't get to the beach, get the beach to you. All it takes is a good wrist and an irrepressible spirit.
