This vintage Native American ring is the work of Navajo silversmith Jack Whittaker. The sterling silver ring has an openwork spider web setting with a natural abalone shell stone that has the iridescence of a fine fiery opal. The polished stone radiates deep blue / green colors.
The ring is size 6.5. The stone measures 10mm across by 11mm high, set in a serrated bezel. The ring is 16mm high (knuckle to knuckle). It weighs 5.2 grams.
The inside of the ring is marked JW in a circle and STERLING.
Slight age-related wear to band back but overall, this fine ring is in excellent vintage condition. Circa 1970. Ring will be shipped in a nice gift ring box.
