This antique Mammy still bank is made of cast iron. It's hand-painted with a good amount of original paint still intact. This figural bank was made circa 1915 by A.C. Williams.
While Mammy looks very good from the front, the back of her head is missing. The coin slot and screw are intact and ironically, the money can not fall out of the small hole left over the coin slot.
Mammy measures 6 inches high. She's 3 inches across the elbows and 2 inches wide sideways.
The blue dress, silver apron and red bandana are original paint. Her spatula in hand confirms that she's the Chef-in-Charge. In spite of the cranial loss (which our price reflects), Mammy still looks pretty great for a 100-year old treasure. She still functions as a bank and makes a great addition to any Black Americana collection. Price includes free domestic shipping.
