What a hunk. Both the spider web natural nodule of old mine turquoise and the rough hewn slab of sterling silver that holds it are what make this pendant a striking hunk of hand-crafted jewelry, suitable for man or woman.
The pendant is abstract in shape. The turquoise is very high quality with black spider webbing that makes the deep turquoise color stand out. The back of the pendant is etched with web-like lines.
The pendant measures 1 1/2 by 1 5/8 inches. By itself, it weighs 34.4 grams...quite hefty. With the old Italian 925 sterling silver box chain, it's 42.3 grams. The chain measures 18 inches. Both chain and pendant have a darkened aged patina which we leave for buyer to polish or not. Some collectors prefer to leave patina as found.
The back is signed with initials that look like MET or MLT. We can't quite make it out but the artist succeeded in creating a fantastic art piece with this pendant. Circa 1970s.
