Someone's about to get kissed. With her arm around his neck, she's moving in and he seems to be ready to pucker up.
This is a great early locket with transferware artwork on both sides so it doesn't matter which way the locket turns...romance is always right side up. The thick double locket is gold-plated with no wear to the gilt. The locket measures 1 by 1 1/4 inches. It's 5/8 inch thick.
The inside holds two photos. The space for each photo measures 5/8 by 7/8 inches.
One of the nicest things about the locket is the chain it hangs from. It's old brass with entwined links and a decorative accent 3 inches above the locket. The original screw barrel clasp still works well. The chain measures 24 inches around. It's another 4 1/2 inch drop from the accent piece.
Beautiful aged patina. Both sides of the locket look good with minimal (if any) wear to the transferware. Circa 1910.
