Here's an impressive signed 1940s fur clip / pin by Ralph DeRosa.
Made of solid sterling silver in an openwork floral design, the center is an intertwining cluster of circles, each pave set with clear crystal rhinestones. There's a beautiful contrast between the outer flower which is clad in gold vermeil and the inner flower which is rhodium-plated.
The clip measures 2 1/2 inches across by 3 inches high. It weighs 41.6 grams.
The back is marked STERLING - R. DEROSA. The two-prong clip has a strong secure hinge and the tips hook into little 'stoppers' at bottom.
The pin has not been polished...we leave it to buyer to decide. A few stones may be slightly darkened with age but they all appear to be intact with nothing missing. This gorgeous DeRosa sterling silver clip is certainly something you'd find in books on 'important' costume jewelry. Very good vintage condition. A rare signed piece.
