To all the stalwart devotees of good old-fashioned straight razor shaving...this might come in handy. Especially if you travel.
Appropriately called the TRAVELLER'S STROP, this handy compact strop keeps your straight razor honed wherever you are. It packs up in its leather-like sheath to measure 7 inches long by 1 3/4 inches wide. The case is about 7/8 inch thick. Out of the case, the strop itself has a surface of 6 1/2 inches long by 1 5/8 inches wide. The metal handle pulls out another 4 1/2 inches.
This Traveller's Strop No. 257 was made by the Howard Strop Co. Boston Mass., circa 1910. The case has attractive antique gilt lettering.
Both strop and case show signs of use but are overall in very good antique condition. The strop still has plenty of surface to keep your razor and face looking sharp.
