Modernist. Brutalist. Abstractist. It's all those 'ists' that mean this is one very unique bracelet.
This artist signed cuff is made of solid sterling silver with a large rectangle of black onyx and a small round dome of the same. The rest of the bracelet takes off into uncharted creative places that leave you looking agog at the waves of silver overlay, the raised silver beads, the crumbled, rumpled texture. Your senses are a bit rattled and you may not know if you like it or not...at first. But then you come around to admiring the wild imagination and gutsy risk taking of the artist. You end up loving this bracelet.
We only know his/her initials are DSM...hand signed inside the bracelet, along with a little drawing that looks like a flying bee or other insect. Also marked STERLING (and acid-tested to confirm).
The bracelet measures 5 5/8 inches end-to-end silver. The opening is 1 1/4 inches. The total is 6 7/8 inches around the inside. A 6 1/2 to 7 inch wrist will feel right at home in this. The bracelet measures 1 3/4 inches at the widest. It weighs 43.6 grams.
A couple of the raised beads have minor bumps. We've left this bracelet unpolished to preserve its aged mellow beauty. We leave any polishing to buyer's preference. This bracelet is in excellent vintage condition. Circa 1960s. Unique beyond words and 'ists'.
