Words fail us (a rarity). We've never seen a Mexican sterling silver bracelet so unique. Big. Wide. Engraved. Heavy. Handmade. All of those and
so much more in total.
This Modernist bracelet has six panels that are linked together with stacks of five silver balls. Remove the pin in one stack and the bracelet opens up. A chain keeps the pin from getting lost.
Each panel is hand-etched with a flower. The leaves are oxidized black for striking contrast.
The bracelet measures 2 inches wide. The inside measures 7 inches around. It's 2 1/8 inches across the opening. The bracelet weighs 140.7 grams.
The bracelet is marked simply MEXICO. That's it...no maker's mark that we can see. The bracelet is solid sterling silver...acid-tested...pin and chain too.
We never polish old silver but the previous owner had polished this so the aged patina is gone but the beauty of the bracelet now shines through. Three of the balls have slight bumps. Overall, this magnificent Mexican bracelet is in excellent vintage condition. Circa mid 20th century.
