A collar of gold-tone metal grill work is a good place to hang your chains. The designers at Napier thought so and came up with this unusual necklace, circa late 1960s.
The gold-tone collar band of wavy open work metal fits comfortably around an average neck. From it, hang gold-tone and silver-tone chains in varying lengths. With the collar, they hang down 6 3/4 inches long. The band itself measures 3/4 inch wide. It's 12 inches around, end-to-end metal. The opening is 1 3/4 inches but opens as much as 3 1/2 inches. Plenty of 'flex' to make it comfortable (no problem on my 14.5 inch neck). There's a fishhook clasp and chain though this necklace stays put without being clasped.
The clasp is marked NAPIER. The necklace is in excellent vintage condition. No wear. Very cool. Late 1960s/early 70s.
