These rare old coin like medallions make a pair of unique cufflinks. One half of the cufflink shows the heads of Napoleon and his wife Marie-Louise and their child who was called the "King of Rome". This relief medallion is signed ANDRIEU (for Bertrand Andrieu, French engraver and medalist.
The other half of the cufflink features an eagle and MARS 1815. Each back is hallmarked with the number ~ 1 ~ and a bubble shape on each side which looks like a French animal silver mark from the 1800s. The links test for sterling...even the connecting chain.
Each link side measures 5/8 inch across. Together they weigh 10 grams. These are unpolished with original aged patina. They're in excellent antique condition. A rare old pair of coin/medallion cufflinks.
