Nothing tops an Art Deco era perfume bottle like a long, tall piece of butterscotch Bakelite. This one's a honey...both in color and in the streamlined design.
The bottle has an angled bulbous glass bottom. The neck of the bottle is covered in marbled Bakelite. The top is a solid knob of Bakelite.
The bottle measures 6 inches high. At the widest part of the glass, it measures 4 inches across. There is one flaw, common to many old bottles that have corked stoppers. Over the years, the cork split so half is still around the knob and the rest of the cork is still around the small glass tube that was inside the cork. The good news is that this bottle can still be used just as it is. Liquid can be poured through the tube inside. The cork top half still fits securely. And, of course, none of this shows if you're going to use this for display in a collection. The glass base and Bakelite are all excellent. The bottom is embossed with the number 5.
It's a great looking old bottle...a piece that both Bakelite and perfume bottle lovers can appreciate. Free domestic shipping is included.
