Signed Sterling Silver 925 Navajo Concho Pillow Beads Necklace - image 1 of 6

Absolutely gorgeous...whichever side you wear it. This vintage Navajo necklace is handmade of solid sterling silver concho pillow or saucer beads. They graduate up the chain to a length of 18.5 inches. Beads are 5/8 inch wide at the top. The center bead measures 1 1/8 inches across by 1 3/4 inches high. Each bead is hand stamped with a Native American design. On the other side, each pillow bead is smooth and glowing.

The beads are strung on sterling silver chain. Each bead is perfectly sealed around their disk shaped edges.

The necklace is marked at the secure spring ring clasp...925 with the CJ CO. hallmark of Carolyn Pollack. Pollack is a jewelry designer and long-time collector of Native American art. Starting in the 1970s, she partnered with Native American artists who made their jewelry under her Southwest studio umbrella. This necklace is an early piece...circa 1980. This is no longer made and is now highly collectible for its beauty, simplicity and exceptional hand crafting. The fact that you can wear it on either side is a nice bonus.

There are 33 concho pillow beads and two cone beads at the clasp. The necklace weighs 48.2 grams. It's in excellent vintage condition. Has a beautiful patina which can be polished more if you prefer.
