This large vintage cobra snake head pendant necklace was no doubt inspired by the 1970s King Tut exhibition that toured the U.S.
This Egyptian motif pendant is hand-painted in the colors of the genuine ancient artifacts of Egypt...orange, turquoise, dark blue/black.
The oversized pendant measures 3 1/2 inches across by 4 3/4 inches high. The cobra head curls up with two turquoise beady eyes. Between its size and the colors, it's quite impactful and very unique.
The original gold-tone link chain measures 18 inches around. There's a hangtag at the end of the spring ring clasp that's marked BOBBI + ELAINE. This was an obscure designer with limited (but very interesting) production. Circa 1970s. The paint shows just a couple of tiny dings. It's overall in excellent vintage condition with bright gold-tone and a bold look. Hefty at 150 grams.
