The Vogue Jewelry Company (1936 - 1973) was known for high-quality beadwork in the 1940s and 1950s. They lived up to their name and reputation with this fantastic set of necklace and matching earrings.
The art glass beads are an orange color that defies description...'bright and luscious' comes to mind. Each bead is hand-painted INSIDE the glass, it appears. It has the effect of Italian Millefiore fused glass.
The necklace measures 28 inches long, ending in a secure screw barrel clasp. The beads graduate in size with the largest center bead measuring 15mm wide. The smallest beads near the clasp are about 7mm wide.
The matching clip-back earrings are about 3/4 inch across. They're domes of vivid orange covered in colorful floral-like 'art'. (A tiny bit of verdigris on the back was removed AFTER we saw it in the photo.) Both earrings have secure clips and are marked VOGUE.
The set is in excellent vintage condition with no notable flaws.
