Mirror, mirror, in my hand - You're not the best-looking in the land - You've got your flaws but even so - we love you 'cause you're Art Nouveau.
So, yes, this antique Art Nouveau hand mirror has seen better days but it's still in very good condition and adds a wonderful old world 'prop' to a vanity. You can even see your image in the mirror in spite of the speckled foxing and nick at beveled edge.
The large raised flowers circle initials that look like H.E.S. (or L). The handle is decorated with foliate and has a nice sturdy feel in the hand.
The mirror measures 5 1/2 by 9 1/2 inches. The side of the mirror is marked QUADRUPLE PLATE - PATENTED DECEMBER 189?. Some dings around edge and wear spots to silver. Overall, this is still a nice old mirror with plenty of charm.
