She won't turn your enemies into stone but all are likely to be fascinated by this Medusa buckle, circa 1900.
The buckle is made of solid brass with an overlay of silver or nickel which has partly worn away...you can see the brass in some places. The angry face of Medusa is in the center and she has a detailed head of snakes where her hair would be.
The buckle measures 4 inches long by 2 1/4 inches wide at the bar end which will take a 2-inch leather or fabric belt. The other end is a snake which either acts as a hook or just dangles to ward off evil. Original patina. Excellent antique condition.
