Every now and then, a piece of jewelry stops us in our tracks because it's so outstanding. This one did it...we had to take time to be awed.

The pin and clip-back earrings are made of japanned (blackened) metal. The flower shape pin is prong set with colorful round and navette crystal rhinestones. And then in the center is the pièce de résistance...a tight cluster of teardrop faux pearl pistils. On the back, you can see how these stemmed pearls are gathered and incorporated into the pin with a filigree holder.

The pin measures 2 by 2 3/4 inches. It has a secure rollover clasp.

The matching clip earrings also have a little pearl cluster, peeking out over the brilliant array of rhinestones including aurora borealis. The earrings measure 3/4 by 1 1/4 inches. Clips are strong and secure.

This beautiful set is in excellent vintage condition. All pearls and rhinestones are intact. What a very unique design. Circa 1940s.
