Coro Design Director Adolph Katz created some of their most beautiful and successful pieces during his decades-long career. This is one of them.
This Art Deco necklace has the look of a stylized bird. It's heavily gold-plated with a thick woven chain. The bird-like pendant in the center has spreading 'wings' and three dangling 'tail feathers'. The center is set with five good-sized clear crystal rhinestones.
This Katz design (Patent #150,714) was patented in August 1948. The necklace is marked with the Pegasus CORO hallmark. It measures 15 inches around by 2 3/4 inches long at the center. Secure spring ring closure. Excellent vintage condition. No notable flaws. You can't miss with Katz.
