This marbled green heavily carved Bakelite pin was intended to be a clip but was never completed. It was found among the parts left at a New York plastics jewelry company in the late 1960s. They'd been there for decades and a lucky friend of ours bought them out. We've had this since 1970 when we were avidly collecting Bakelite.
We finally had the rollover pin back added so it could be worn as a pin. The genuine 1930s Czech egg yolk glass was added between the two stamped brass leaf prongs which were there, imbedded in the Bakelite.
The pin measures 1 3/4 by 2 5/8 inches. The Bakelite is 1/4 inch thick. The carved grooves may still have tiny bits of the molds that this came out of...easily brushed out if we missed any. Overall, this is in excellent vintage condition. The marbled Bakelite is a beautiful piece, waiting all these decades to be completed and make its debut.
