This is a very unique pin, composed of a vintage sterling silver handwrought conch pin and a colorful array of genuine stone fetish dangles.
The hand-carved fetish figural charms include a turquoise eagle, a turquoise squirrel, lapis bird, lapis dog (dachs?). There's also a genuine 1937 Buffalo nickel, silver bench work beads, malachite, turquoise, tigereye and other beads. The effect is impressive and colorful.
The pin measures 2 1/8 inches across by 4 1/4 inches long. It weighs 50 grams. The back has a secure rollover clasp. Slight wave in the pin has no effect on the closure. We can see that the conch was probably once a pin or belt conch, creatively enhanced into this unique piece.
The pin is unsigned but was acid-tested for sterling silver. Excellent condition. Parts are older but this was made circa 1980.
