Love that S.A.L.! He sounds like the guy next door but S.A.L. actually stands for Swarovski America Ltd. S.A.L. was the first name the Austrian crystal company used to manufacture their own jewelry. The S.A.L mark was used from 1977 to 1988 after which it was replaced with the trademark swan hallmark we know today.
This S.A.L. set is circa 1980 and certainly lives up to the quality Swarovski name and reputation. The necklace is heavy gold-plate with a row of faux amethyst crystal rhinestones. They're separated by 'X's, some with clear faux diamond crystals.
The necklace measures 16.5 inches around by 7/16 inch wide at center. The foldover clasp snaps securely. The back of the necklace is marked S.A.L.
There are matching clip-back earrings with a double drop of amethyst crystals and the rhinestone X in the center. These measure 3/8 inch across by 1 3/8 inches high. The clips are secure and marked S.A.L.
The set is in excellent condition. Circa 1980. This elegant attractive set gives you every reason to love that S.A.L.
