This filly from Philly looks like she was having a great time at the Fair. Not just any fair, this was the Philadelphia Sesqui-Centennial International Exposition of 1926. It was a world's fair in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the signing of the United States Declaration of Independence and the 50th anniversary of the 1876 Centennial Exposition. A big event that went on for several months.

Of course, she had to have a souvenir of the Fair and what better memento than a photo of herself in a flapperish cloche hat, placed in a very fine miniature enamel frame that was made in Czecho-Slovakia (back when it was spelled as two words)...and made exclusively for the Fair.

The miniature frame measures 1 1/2 by 2 inches. It's guilloche enameled on brass in dark emerald green with white. Around the frame is the Liberty Bell (which was the oversized symbol of the Fair) and '1776 - 1926 - 'THE SESQUI-CENTENNIAL PHILADELPHIA'.

The easel back is solid brass and is stamped MADE IN CZECHO - SLOVAKIA. The frame has a glass 'window' that slides in/out. A little damage to the photo itself (under her chin) but the frame is in excellent vintage condition. Enamel is perfect. A rare Fair souvenir.
