This is a wowser...a gorgeous necklace that's more than it appears to be. The star of the show is, of course, the ferociously beautiful wild cat with black enamel stripes and more stripes of pave crystal rhinestones set in gold-tone channels. He sits atop a ring of crystals with a large faux pearl cabochon in the center.
The cat on the pearl acts as a pendant on a long double-strand necklace of jet black glass beads with hand-knotting in between. There's a clasp at each end of the cat and pearl so that you can free them from the necklace to wear alone as a brooch. Brilliant idea.
The cat pearl pin measures 1 1/4 inches across by 3 inches high. With the beads, the necklace measures 33 inches around. Both clasps snap in securely. All the stones are bright and intact.
This 1980s necklace is so in the style of Kenneth Lane. We were sure it was because we bought this with another KJL piece from the same estate. There's something TRYING to look like a mark on the back of this but it doesn't register as anything so we call this 'unmarked' but so close. It's in excellent condition and it's very wonderful.
