This little miniature doll house wall mirror would make any doll and its owner look twice. It's an old Continental silver miniature made by Dutch silversmith Hendrik Hooijkass (sometimes spelled Hooykaas).
The silver mirror is such a detailed and ornate miniature of its real life version. It has fancy scroll work with a flower here and there. The glass mirror is clear. The back has a wood backing and a little wire for hanging. It weighs 30.5 grams.
The mirror measures 1 3/4 inches across by 2 5/8 inches high. The bottom is marked HH for Hendrik Hooykaas and 835 for 83.5% silver (out of 1000). Hooykaas is known for his fine life-like miniatures. (His silver miniatures were sold at Christie's in 1999 for impressive prices.) This piece was made in the early to mid 20th century. Condition is excellent.
