This rare rhinestone bird pin by Schrager is circa 1940s. The textured gold-tone exotic bird has rows of blue and green crystal rhinestones in the neck feathers and upper body. The head is pave set with clear crystals with a red faux ruby eye with a smooth gold-tone beak.
The back is smooth and glowing gold-tone with the SCHRAGER signature plaque. This mark was used in the 1940s, between hallmarks that said 'House of Schrager' and 'Jonne by Schrager'.
The pin measures 1 7/8 by 2 1/4 inches. The pin has a secure working rollover clasp. It's in excellent vintage condition with all stones bright and intact.
We couldn't find this pin anywhere else. Schrager was known for its high-quality costume jewelry and because their production of it was more limited, pieces are hard to find. It's well worth the hunt for it.
