You may not know the name yet but Steven Vaubel has been making his unique hand-finished jewelry for decades. His pieces sell for hundreds to thousands of dollars at exclusive department stores.
This early Vaubel pin was made in 1988. It combines clean Modernist form with unique design and high-end metals. The pin is made of 18K gold-plate vermeil on silver.
Very sleek...the pin is a curved domed sausage shape with five domed teardrop dangles. The gold vermeil glows in a subdued 'old gold' way. On the various pieces of this pin, you can see the unpolished silver around the edges. We've left the natural aged patina as found.
The pin measures 3 1/8 inches across the dangles by 2 inches high. It weighs 28.5 grams. The back has a secure working rollover pin. It's hand etched / signed by hand VAUBEL. '88 (c). Overall, in excellent vintage condition. The more you see Vaubel's work, the more you want more of it.
