These six real photo postcards were taken on November 1, 1921. It was a big day in Kansas City Missouri when the main Allied military leaders spoke to a crowd of close to 200,000. It was the only time these leaders were together in one place.
In attendance (shown in one of the cards) were Lieutenant General Baron Jacques of Belgium, General Armando Diaz of Italy, Marshal Ferdinand Foch of France, General John J. Pershing of the United States, and Admiral David Beatty of Great Britain. The U.S. Vice President Calvin Coolidge also spoke though he's not in the cards.
Part of the occasion was the dedication of the Liberty Memorial, a gift from the American Legion.
Except for a couple of negligible corner bumps, the cards are all in unused excellent condition, showing the AZO stamp box. They measure 5 3/8 by 3 1/2 inches. They come in their original KANSAS CITY SET POST CARDS envelope which indicates the set once had 10 cards. There are six here. These are rare...we've only seen a couple of them offered individually. It was a historical day in Kansas City, captured in these original postcards.
