This vintage estate cocktail ring is reason enough to host a cocktail party. The large 14K yellow gold ring has a large center opal cabochon and 20 smaller opals circling around in a two-tier setting.
The center opal measures 10mm by 15mm. It's 3mm thick. It's approximately 4 carats. It has a pink, blue, and green play of color. The surrounding tier has 20 small opals, about 2-3mm wide, each approximately .07 points. The colors are well matched with fiery hues.
The gold work on the back of the ring shows a solid and detailed support for the opals. The shank is solid with hallmarks on the outside of the band.
The ring is marked 14K with two maker's hallmarks that we can't quite make out. The ring size is 7.5. (This could probably be sized by a jeweler if you need it a bit smaller or larger.)
The ring weighs 8 grams. The entire ring top measures 3/4 by 7/8 inches. There's a tiny nick to underside edge of center opal...too small for camera to pick up. A bit of wear to the gold band on the underside. The stones are all excellent. The ring is circa 1950s/60s.
The design and workmanship of this ring are of high quality. The vibrant fiery colors of the opals set in gleaming yellow gold make this a beautiful vintage cocktail ring. (Ring will be shipped in a nice wood jeweler's ring box as shown in photo.)
