This Modernist interpretation of the Ten Commandments was made by artist Dan Karavum in 1976. This can be worn as either a pin or a pendant.
The gold-clad metal is highly stylized with twelve raised spokes on the tablet. (Maybe the artist felt a couple of more commandments were in order.)
The pin measures 1 1/2 by 2 inches. The back is hand signed and dated(etched into the metal) by the artist. A very nice gold-tone box chain hangs from the pendant loop. It measures 24 inches around.
This is a very unusual piece of Modernist jewelry...and we'll always wonder what those extra two commandments might be.
