Sometimes, the most simply designed thing (think egg or leaf), is the one that intrigues us the most. This is the feeling you get when you look at these Modernist earrings made by silver artist/sculptor Ken Loeber.
These earrings are hand-hammered out of sterling silver with a wash of 24K gold. The design is sparse and almost wispy. But look closely and you see how textured the surface is. And that simply folded-over corner...it's perfection.
The earrings measure 1 by 1 3/8 inches. They're hand signed on the backs... K. LOEBER '84 - STERLING + 24K. They weigh 5.2 grams. They're in excellent condition with post backs for pierced ears.
Among his many exhibitions, gallery shows and write-ups, Ken Loeber was featured in a PBS series documentary film called 'Craft in America'. The series featured a traveling exhibition and book.
