Vintage Taxco Mexican Sterling Silver Key Ring - Initial ~W~Vintage Taxco Mexican Sterling Silver Key Ring - Initial ~W~Vintage Taxco Mexican Sterling Silver Key Ring - Initial ~W~

Where's Waldo? Or William, Walter, Wes, or Wayne. Is there a Wanda in the house? Wendy, Wilma or Willow?

If your first or last name starts with a ~ W ~, this is your lucky day...and key ring. It's a vintage sterling silver tag, made in Taxco Mexico by CHEO, a well-regarded silversmith name (listed in the 'Little Book of Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks' by Bille Hougart.

The letter ~W~ is inlaid in abalone shell so it has a nice iridescence. The key ring/tag measures 1 inch wide by 3 1/8 inches long. The back is hallmarked with the Eagle 185 mark - CHEO - TAXCO MEXICO - 925. The ring opens by sliding down the band that holds it together. Easy to open but very secure. The key ring weighs 14.2 grams. Circa 1960s.

The ring shows age-appropriate wear...nothing notable. Overall, this ~W~ is W-W-W-W-W-onderful.
