This big ethnic ring is old, handwrought and hefty. It's of Afghanistan / Pakistan / Uzbekistan tribal origin, circa early 20th Century.
The circular ring resembles a pinwheel or flower. The petals 'move' toward a clock-wise direction and in between, there's raised silver bead work. In the center, is a cabochon of natural genuine turquoise. The ring top measures 1 5/8 inches across. The ring size is 9...would fit a man or woman.
The band has more bead work and measures 1/4 inch wide. The ring weighs 25 grams. We acid-tested it and it comes up as 900 silver (just short of 925 which is sterling). We haven't polished the ring as some prefer the original patina on antique pieces. We leave it to buyer.
Overall, this is unique, antique, and a one-of-a-kind piece of South Asian tribal jewelry in excellent vintage condition. These tribal cultures are disappearing, taking their handicrafts with them. These pieces will only become more valuable.
