You can always spot a hat by Frank Olive. It never looks like some ordinary hat. It always stands out and way above the other hats. Like this one...
Its high-fashion design says 'I'm not feeling like wearing all black. I'm not in the mood for all white. So I'll wear both.' So, there's a fine wool black hat over a fine wool white hat. Or such is the illusion. The hat hugs the head nicely so you can wear it a rakish angle with no fear...especially since it has its own matching hatpin if you need it. (It's pinned to hat as found...we haven't removed it.)
The hat size is medium. It measures about 22 inches around the inner grosgrain ribbon. There's some soil to the white on the inside. We think the right cleaner would take care of that but we'll leave it to the experts. It's just normal wear to white and nothing that looks permanent. The top of the hat is looking very good with no notable flaws. No holes or odors.
Frank Olive designed hats for the theater, celebrities and other designers. His customers included Oscar de la Renta and Pauline Trigere, as well as leading department stores and performers like Carol Burnett, Diana Ross and Peggy Lee.
