Our friend, who was a jewelry designer, bought this necklace in the 1970s when she made many trips to Asia, buying up fine beads and parts for her designs.
This necklace is made of old handmade Peking glass beads. They're a very vibrant coral color, looking much like real coral which was greatly admired in China...and still is by all of us.
The necklace measures 21 inches around. The beads are 10mm to 11mm with pink coral silk thread hand-knotting in between. The clasp is old Chinese silver with a pretty filigree design on top. These are usually 900 silver. The necklace weighs 47 grams.
The necklace is in excellent condition with all beads intact.
