The graphics are great and the box comes in handy for storing stuff. This vintage 1950s wood box once held cigars that came from the tobacco store advertised on the label, both on top of the lid and on the inside of it.
The store...BRAZIL TRULLERIE - MALSCH HEIDELBERG - WEST GERMANY... shows off its colorful storefront on the paper lithographed label. Happy customers wearing hats look enthusiastic about the cigars. The gent on the left is even smoking a cigar that's shaped like a pipe.
The box measures 9 3/4 by 5 inches. It's 1 inch thick. The box still has its original brass latch and gold foil trim. There's slight age wear to edges and minimal wear to lid label. The inside label and box are clean...graphics are bright. Someone did a little addition on the bottom of the box in pencil and we left it since it adds (no pun intended) a bit of charm. A fine hairline crack at bottom doesn't show at all on the inside. The box is solid. Great for decorative display or use.
