Often mistaken for Haskell jewelry, this Jonne necklace is quite exciting in its own right. The intricate colorful bead work, the gilt filigree detailing, bright crystal rhinestones, and the overall quality results in a spectacular 'fruit salad' necklace, circa 1950s.
Two strands of pastel colored glass beads include faceted frosted and sugar beads. The centerpiece is covered in more glass beads and rhinestones with dangles at the bottom. The back is double filigree in a butterfly shape. Each side of the necklace ends in a pair of sparkling aurora borealis crystals.
The necklace measures 17 to 20 inches around, depending on where you clasp it along the beaded extension chain. The center measures 3 inches high with dangles. The inside of the fishhook clasp is marked JONNE.
JONNE was a line of Schrager Jewelry and both names are somewhat difficult to find. Both were known for their unusual designs and high-quality work. This necklace is one to scoop up as they don't turn up in this excellent signed condition often.
