Back in the Bakelite rediscovery madness of the 1970s, some talented person made these large stylized Scotty dog pins out of Lucite to resemble Bakelite. We had a few back then, sold them, and hadn't seen any for a long time.
This runaway just appeared in one of our old store boxes. He's made of blended red and black Lucite that has a textured (like dog fur) top. The face is set with a googly eye that moves around and the dog collar is set with red rhinestones.
The pin measures 2 3/4 inches across by 3 3/4 inches high. It's 1/4 inch thick but hold it up to the light and you can see that the red is semi translucent. The back has a secure rollover clasp. Pin is in excellent condition. It's a great vintage oversized dog pin.
