This vintage set is terrific and surprisingly unsigned. It looks like it was made by someone with plenty of panache.
The six-strand necklace of chains has two of them dangling with Austrian crystals. The crystals are not the ordinary kind. These are tinted with iridescent color...kind of like watermelon or iris glass but in blue/green. These large crystal dangles are faceted and measure about 3/4 inch across. Other smaller dangles made of glass and aurora borealis crystals hang in between the larger ones. The clasp has a row of crystals at each end.
The necklace measures 16 to 19 inches, depending on where you clasp it along the extension chain which has a fishhook clasp with a rhinestone drop. The necklace drapes to a width of 3 inches.
The matching clip-back earrings are a work of art on their own. They combine the elements of the necklace...gold-tone chain, the large crystal, blue glass beads and the aurora borealis rhinestone. The gilded filigree back shows through the front crystal which adds an unusual element to these earrings. They measure 1 1/8 by 1 3/8 inches.
The set is in excellent vintage condition with all dangles intact and the crystal beads showing no nicks. The chain is bright with no signs of wear. Circa 1950s.
