These three Black Americana hair product tins are circa 1940...all unused and empty.
The small sample tin is for SWEET GEORGIA BROWN HAIR DRESSING POMADE and measures 1 1/8 inches across.
Colorful red, yellow and black tins for LUCKY BROWN include Pressing Oil...featuring a smiling black woman with half her hair curly and the other half straight. Measures 2 3/4 inches across top by 1 inch high.
The other tin is Hair Dressing for Men and Women, featuring a black couple with glossy black hair, about to kiss. Measures 2 7/8 x 1 5/8 inches. Graphics around the sides have a 'before' and 'after' views of the woman ... captioned 'krimpy, bad hair'...'straight looking hair'.
These tins show almost no wear...been stored in a warehouse for 70+ years. They're overall in excellent vintage condition. These are colorful lithograph, distributed by the Valmor Products Co. of Chicago. This is a great lot for your vintage tin or Black Americana collection.
