Fierce dragons face off on this old Chinese enameled miniature bench or stand. It's colorful cloisonné set into brass metal on the top. The sides are ornately detailed with open work designs. The legs and edges have a white enameled cloisonné pattern. The bottom is teal blue enamel.
The bench measures 7 1/2 inches across by 1 5/8 inches wide. It's 3 inches high.
This is early 1900s to 1920s. The metal is left unpolished with natural aged patina. Other than negligible nuances in the hand-crafting of the enamel, the cloisonné looks good and the colors are vibrant. This may have been used for displaying other Chinese smalls or as a ceremonial stand. It's a rare and beautiful little piece.
NOTE - It wasn't till we saw the enlarged photos that we noticed some label adhesive on top of each side of the piece. It came off easily so the top is now clean and as it should be.
