With her wind-swept skirt and flowing shawl, this Art Deco woman is hand-cut into a red glass intaglio pendant. The faceted pendant hangs from a chain of jet black faceted glass beads.
The beads measure 23 inches around by 5-6mm wide. Each bead is hand-knotted in between and there's a secure spring-ring closure. Since this necklace is circa 1920s/early 1930s, we had the beads restrung as the thread had weakened over the decades. These are now good for another 100 years.
The red glass pendant measures 1 1/8 by 1 7/8. With the entire drop, it measures 3 1/2 inches long. The glass edges are beveled. There are some very negligible flea bites at edge but you'll only see them through a strong magnifier.
The back carving looks like it was originally painted in with white and there's a little paint still left.
Overall, this is a beautiful old Art Deco piece, surely Czech made. The color combination is one that's always desirable. Excellent vintage condition.
