This mid-century Mexican pin / pendant features a classic face with tongue sticking out in the center of a Sunstone design. This image was symbolic of an earth deity in ancient Mexican culture.
The pin is made of solid sterling silver. It has a cut-through, very Modernist look to it. The back has both a secure rollover clasp and a loop for hanging on a chain.
The piece measures 2 3/8 inches each way. It weighs 12.3 grams. The hallmarks include STERLING - TAXCO - MEXICO on the back and ERE with the Eagle 3 mark on the curve of the loop. This vintage pin or pendant is in excellent condition. (A good one to wear on days you wish you could stick your tongue out at the world.)
